From RFQ to fieldwork

Four steps, one point of contact.

  1. Send your RFQ

Email the specification, the screener if ready, sample size, session length, dates and the services you need.

  2. Feasibility and quote

Within one business day (JST) we reply with a costed quote, or with the questions we need answered first. We check incidence, the best recruitment route and the calendar, including Japanese public holidays, and state our assumptions in the quote.

  3. Recruitment

We translate and program the screener, screen, and re-confirm every recruit by phone. For standard consumer targets, allow about two weeks from award; tighter timelines are often possible.

  4. Fieldwork and delivery

Sessions in our facility or online, with streaming, interpretation and transcripts as agreed. Recordings and transcripts are shared through a shared drive.

What to include in your RFQ

  • Method, number of sessions and session length
  • Target audience and quotas, or the screener
  • Expected incidence, if you have an estimate
  • City or online, and fieldwork dates
  • Services needed: recruitment, facility, moderation, interpretation (which language), transcripts or translation, streaming
  • Deliverables and deadlines

Frequently asked questions

Do you work with research agencies, or only with brands?

Both. We work with research agencies and consultancies as well as brands. We keep your client's name confidential, and we never use your projects to approach your clients.

Can we work with you in English?

Yes. Emails, calls, online meetings, briefings and debriefs can all be in English, and we provide simultaneous interpretation during sessions.

Can we book only recruitment, or only the facility?

Yes. Recruitment, facility rental, moderation, interpretation and transcripts can each be booked on their own, or combined into a full fieldwork package.

Which cities do you cover?

Tokyo in our own facility in Akasaka; Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka through partner facilities; and online interviews with respondents anywhere in Japan.

Can our team watch the sessions from overseas?

Yes. Sessions can be streamed via Zoom, and remote viewers can listen to the simultaneous interpretation.

How long does recruitment take?

For standard consumer targets, allow about two weeks from award to the first session: screener translation and programming, screening, and a phone re-check of every recruit. Low-incidence and professional targets take longer. Tell us your dates and we will confirm feasibility in the quote.

Can you recruit high-income consumers, experts or B2B decision makers?

Yes. For targets that online panels cannot reach, we recruit through our referral network. Our quotes state the assumed incidence, so you can see what drives the cost.

How are respondent incentives handled?

Incentives depend on the task and the target. We recommend an amount for each target in the quote and pay respondents on your behalf.

How do you handle respondents' personal data?

We manage personal data in line with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI). Respondent profiles show family names only, and we never share respondents' contact details with clients.

How do we send an RFQ?

Email your specification to info@researto.com. Quotes are free of charge. The checklist on this page lists what helps us quote quickly.
